Some Sort Of Transit System Would Be Nice About Now!

i am a 22 year old diabetic who is suffering from diabetic neuropathy now for almost 3 years. this means i am unable to stand for long period of times. My concern is that this town is growing but there is no access for people without cars or with health problems to get to the new development in pine grove,hospital and even Lunenburg.
i know we have the senior wheels and that works, so why not a public wheels for people like me and other people that need to get to these place in a hurry or at a appointment on time.
with the thought of this would open more jobs and options for people who need this.
i am not saying i can't walk but i have no car because of money problems and getting to Lunenburg for my diabetic meetings and to wal-mart and etc. for needs.
it would just make sense to have one.

Permalink Reply by Kim Nichols on July 28, 2009 at 8:20am: I agree with you Vaughn....It would encourage more young people to reside here with or without health issues.....A transit system or public transportation is vital to enable a community to grow....It is a very important mode of transportation for many, young, old, middle age with no license or those unable to afford a vehicle, healthy or unhealthy. It is very hard to live in an area with no public transportation. I do not need it myself but am all for it It would indeed make access to jobs easier. Public transportation is a must for a community that wants and needs growth.

It makes total sense and I believe they are doing a study on it. They always have to spend alot of money first to study it and find out what is feasible. Not sure the why behind this, it would make more sense if they used common sense to recognize it is needed and spend half the money on their study and implement the changes faster and use the money they save for the transportation system.

Does anyone know the status of this study? I remember hearing about it.....
