The Twilight Saga: New Moon... terribly good or terribly bad?

I am looking forward to taking all my three children to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon this weekend, not only for them but also for me. I found the first movie enjoyable and different and the soundtrack was good too..

BUT we uploaded the latest FILM FRIDAY review to southshorenow and the critics are not saying may positive things about New Moon (see below)

QUOTE from Andrew Powells review:

Peter Howell of the Toronto Star wrote in his mostly-positive review, "The stakes are higher and the intensity deeper this time, despite a plot that approaches the ripest of melodrama - and which occasionally provokes unintended laughter, as does the terribly twee soundtrack."

At the same time Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times, who actually gave the first film a decent review, railed against New Moon. "The Twilight Saga: New Moon takes the tepid achievement of Twilight, guts it, and leaves it for undead."....

So my questions are..

a) Have you seen the movie yet?
b) If so did you enjoy it and was the soundtrack as good as the first?

Thanks!

Haven't seen it yet but will....and I am a sad middle aged woman!! (grin) BUT you know, watching the first one brought back all those feelings you had at school when you had secret yearnings for the school heart-throb or the strange, interesting guy.

I think in the first movie, those emotions were portrayed very realistically so daughter AND mothers could totally identify with those butterfly in the stomach feelings..

I think in the first it was good that Bella was played by a girl/woman who a lot of people could identify with. She has some troubles, is flawed and isn't perfect YET the hottest guy in school can see into her soul and that is what consumes him....

Yeah- bring it on. Am definately looking forward to seeing New Moon!
