Sponsorship & Fundraising Director 2010

The volunteer position begins with immediate effect and the director will be responsible for:

* Contacting and talking to 2009 sponsors in early January 2010.
* Formulating a sponsorship plan for 2010 and implementing it early in the new year
* Completing sponsorship applications forms online and by mail with supporting documentation including financials
* Applying for funding and grants from the province
* Ensuring follow through
* Attending regular committee meetings
* Working and corresponding regularly with the festival chairperson on the progression of the sponsorship plan
* Ensuring sponsors receive excellent recognition and visibility for their support
* Working with the festival coordinator on mail outs
* Implementing the fundraising through local smaller businesses and individual donations via e-mail, mail outs and visits and coordinating the Friend of the Festival campaign.
* Working on a plan for donations to the festival fundraising 'Silent Auction' and coordinating this with the 'Silent Auction' volunteers
* Working on donations for the fundraising raffle through sponsors and corporate friends of the festival
* Working with Lighthouse Media Group to achieve a sponsorship recognition page in the annual brochure

Note: The 2009 Sponsorship Director will be available for guidance and help during 2010

This position is a challenging but rewarding role and brings with it an opportunity to work with some great people within the community, promote tourism and the economy within Mahone Bay and the area and of course is a valuable reference for a resume.

PLEASE NOTE: The role is spread over several months so not as busy at it looks! Very rewarding..
